Parking Lot Additions & Extensions
Enterprise Asphalt Paving makes it easy to extend or create additional parking spots to your existing parking lot.
Step 1: Excavation
We remove both existing organic materials such as grass, weeds, or brush and any inorganic materials currently in the way of the parking lot extension. All excavated materials are trucked to a recycling center.
Step 2: Re-grade
We then re-grade the land to create the proper pitch for rainwater runoff.
Step 3: Cut for Transitions
We also remove one to two feet of pavement at all seams. We do this in order to match back smoothly to the existing joints and create a butt joint for a perfect fit with the sections of your current parking lot.
Step 4: Base Installation and Compaction
The RCA Stone Blend Base is installed to specification as a foundation for the asphalt. The base is then compacted with a vibratory power roller to create a strong durable structure for the new asphalt surface. We usually match the depth of the existing parking lot we are extending.
Step 5: Asphalt Installation
A new wearing course is installed with hot Asphalt, to comply with New York State Mix to specifications and placed at an average temperature of 300° F. A mechanical self-powered paver machine installs this new surface. We then pour hot asphalt concrete (A.C.) tar along the seam of the old and new pavements.
Step 6: Asphalt Compaction
The hot asphalt is then compacted by a vibratory power roller, in order to achieve the most density. We also use a compactor plate as necessary to pinch the joints together.
